The Bible teaches us that we are not here by accident, we were created with a clear purpose. We are called to "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the seas, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Genesis 1:28)
"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." (Genesis 1:27) This means that we are image bearers of Christ and we are created for relationship with Him.
Unfortunately human nature is sinful. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) This sin separates us from the Creator and we have no way to fix this divide in our own power.
BUT JESUS. God did not leave us without hope. Jesus was sent to earth, to live a perfect life, and die for OUR sins. He died on a cross for us and took the punishment that we deserve. He defeated death and rose from the grave. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 states "For I delivered you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He (Jesus) was buried, and that He (Jesus) rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and he was seen by Cephas (Peter), then by the twelve (disciples)."
Jesus died for our sins and rose again BUT we must respond to this news. We must believe in Jesus and what He did for us. "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9) When you put your trust in Jesus you are forgiven, made new, begin a relationship with God, and receive eternal life.
The greatest news ever is that the God of the universe sent His own son to die for YOU. He wants a relationship with you and Jesus is the bridge that makes that possible. All we have to do is accept that Jesus is who He says He is!
"For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
"I choose to believe the bible because it is a reliable collection of historical documents, written by eyewitnesses during the lifetime of other eyewitnesses. They report supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies, and they claim to be divine rather than human in origin." - Voddie Baucham
