Peer support is a system of giving and receiving help, rooted in shared lived experience, where people with similar personal struggles, such as mental health issues or addiction, provide emotional, social, or practical aid to one another. Peer support is not a replacement for professional counseling or therapy but it can be beneficial to anyone. Whether you're struggling with motivation, going through something at home, or just over stressed, reaching out to a brother or sister can help tremendously.Â
The Dad Shift believes that as followers of Jesus, we are called to bear each other's burdens as well as walk through the difficulties of life in community. If you ever need to reach out, do not hesitate to email me at tanner@thedadshifttx.org or utilize Next Rung's 24hr Peer Support Hotline at 1.833.698.7864.
